How to Use CediSmart

CediSmart is engineered from first principles for the Ghanaian financial landscape—seamlessly connecting Mobile Money (MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AT Money), traditional bank accounts, and physical cash on hand with zero manual friction.

Ghanaian Phone Number Verification

1. Launch CediSmart on your iOS or Android device (or open the CediSmart Web App).
2. Enter your 9-digit or 10-digit Ghanaian mobile number (e.g., 024 123 4567). The country code +233 is automatically prefixed.
3. Tap Continue to receive a 6-digit SMS verification code powered by Clerk.
4. Enter the 6-digit OTP code to verify your phone ownership.

6-Digit Secure PIN & Biometrics

• Hardware-Backed PIN: Create a personal 6-digit Security PIN stored inside your device's hardware Keychain (iOS) or Keystore (Android).
• Face ID / Fingerprint Unlock: Enable biometric login during setup or anytime under Settings → Security → Biometric Login.
• Auto-Lock & Privacy Shield: Configure automatic app lock (Immediate, 2 mins, 5 mins) and tap the eye icon on your Dashboard to mask all figures with GH₵ •••• in public.

The Home Dashboard gives you a live command center over your net worth, daily spending allowance, and recent activity:

• Tracked Net Worth Hero Card: Displays your combined real-time balance across Mobile Money, Bank Accounts, and Physical Cash, plus monthly Income vs. Expense totals.
• Safe-to-Spend Today Pill: Dynamically calculates how much you can safely spend today without breaking your monthly budgets.
• Headphones AI Support Button: Located in the top-right header bar for 1-tap access to your Voice & Chat AI CFO from anywhere on the Dashboard.
• Quick USSD Shortcuts: Trigger one-touch Ghanaian telecom USSD codes directly: *170# (MTN MoMo), *110# (Telecel Cash), and *110# (AT Money).

CediSmart organizes your money into three native account categories under Settings → Tracked Accounts & MoMo (or the Accounts tab in the Web App):

1. Manual Entry (+ Add Transaction)

Tap the center + button on the bottom navigation bar, choose Expense or Income, enter the amount in GH₵, pick your wallet and category, and tap Save Transaction.

2. Paste-to-Log MoMo SMS Rescue

Copy any raw transaction SMS from your messages (e.g., Payment received for GHS 150.00 from Kweku Mensah...) and either tap Import MoMo SMS Alert on the Add Transaction screen or paste it directly into AI Support (or the Web App's Gemini Parser). CediSmart extracts the amount, direction, merchant, and category automatically.

3. Multimodal Receipt & Invoice Vision Scanning

Open AI Support, tap the + attachment button, and snap a photo of any receipt (Shoprite, Melcom, Shell fuel station, pharmacy invoice). CediSmart's vision engine reads the merchant and total, presenting a 1-tap Confirm & Save to Ledger card.

Displayed live on both the Mobile Dashboard and Web App, Safe-to-Spend Today is calculated as:

Safe-to-Spend Today = (Total Monthly Budget − Total Spent This Month) ÷ Remaining Days in Month

50/30/20 AI Smart Budget Generator

Not sure how much to allocate per category? Enter your monthly take-home income in the Budgets tab and let CediSmart automatically distribute your limits across:

• 50% Needs: Food & Dining, Utilities, Rent, Transportation, Healthcare.
• 30% Wants: Shopping, Entertainment, Dining Out, Subscriptions.
• 20% Savings & Debt: Emergency Fund, Investments, Loan Repayment.

Customizable Warning Thresholds

Under Settings → Notifications → Budget Warning Threshold, choose when CediSmart alerts you (50%, 75%, 80% default, 90%, or 100% of any category limit).

• Monthly Summary KPIs: Track Total Income, Total Expenses, Net Savings, and your exact Savings Rate percentage.
• Interactive Category Breakdown & 6-Month Trends: Visualize category shares and month-over-month income vs. expense velocity.
• Branded PDF & CSV Statements: Go to Settings → Data & Storage to export a bank-grade PDF Monthly Statement or a full CSV spreadsheet for accounting and GRA tax filing.

Hands-Free Live Voice Mode

Tap the Headphones icon on the Dashboard, then tap the Waveform icon in the chat bar to launch the Liquid Glass Voice Orb. Speak naturally to log expenses or query your finances:

Advisor Mode vs. Auto-Pilot Mode

• Advisor Mode (Default): AI presents an interactive confirmation card (Confirm & Save to Ledger or Edit in Form) before writing to your ledger.
• Auto-Pilot Mode: Toggle on ⚡ Auto-Pilot in the + menu so spoken or typed transactions save immediately with a 10-second Undo button.

Apple-Style 120fps Swipe Gestures

• Short-Swipe Left on any transaction row to reveal quick Categorize and Delete buttons.
• Full-Swipe Left all the way across a transaction row to delete it immediately with haptic feedback.

Separate Personal & Business Ledgers

Keep your personal money and side-hustle or shop finances completely separate on one phone:

1. Open Settings and tap Switch Profile inside the top Profile card.
2. Tap Add Another Account to register or sign into a second phone number.
3. Switch between profiles anytime using Face ID / Fingerprint or your 6-digit PIN. Each profile maintains its own isolated wallets, budgets, and PDF statements.

Ghana Card (Tier 1) Identity Verification

Open Settings → Profile → Identity Verification and enter your Ghana Card number (GHA-XXXXXXXXX-X) and Date of Birth to unlock Tier 1 verified status via NIA / Smile ID.

• Offline Queue: Log transactions anytime without mobile data. View pending items under Settings → Data & Storage → Offline Queue and tap Sync Now when back online.
• Self-Heal Diagnostic Doctor: Inside AI Support, tap Check for problems to automatically flush stuck cache items, retry offline uploads, and refresh live Postgres balances.
• Native Bug & Feedback Sheets: Use Settings → Support → Report a Bug or Share Feedback to send diagnostics or feature requests directly to the engineering team.

• Light, Dark & System Themes: Under Settings → Appearance (or via the ☀️/🌙 button in the Web App), switch instantly between crisp daytime Light Theme, OLED Dark Theme, or System Theme.
• Custom Pro App Icons: CediSmart Pro members can customize their home screen icon between Luminous Emerald, Classic Emerald, Pro Obsidian Gold, and Sovereign Amber.
